Another month already behind us and that means the first of a monthly series of Dev Entries. These posts will update you on what I have been up to in the last month and include some hourly work statistics.
This month the primary focus was getting the Launcher and Patching system complete. Read more about it in the previous blog post: Launcher Complete! While work was also spent on researching and brainstorming game systems: quests, world map, skills, and professions.
- Week 1 (1st-4th): 13 hours
- Week 2 (5th-11th): 15 hours
- Week 3 (12th-18th): 27 hours
- Week 4 (19th-25th): 17 hours
- Week 5 (26th-30th): 22 hours
Total: 94 hours
Previous month: 132 hours
I do believe not being able to stream my work, the Launcher required too much sensitive work that I just simply could not stream, really messed with my motivation and focus. But even still I worked pretty hard this month. But also I didn't work over the Thanksgiving holiday (week 4), to spend time with family. And I also spent this month working on resetting my sleep schedule: and that made it extremely challenging to work (week 2) being exhausted most of the week.
Having a sleep schedule where I am awake during the day and not all night will be very beneficial to the project. I tend to not work as much at night, as all my friends are wanting to play games and such. But now that I have all day to work without interruption, this will give me a solid 6 to 8 hours a day to work!
I am also excited to have the Launcher behind me, but I am not too happy with there only being one month left of the year. The month of December I really hope to push it. Let's hope that I do.
