    Posted: July 14 2009 at 10:36am

Hey there, I'm new to this site. I've used RPG maker in the past but never really tried making my own sprites. Well today I made my first sprite and I cant figure out how to scale it when its imported. Im not sure how to really explain so bare with me. When you go to select the char sprite that is player controled there is a white rectangle box that shows the sprites that will be used (front, back, left, right, ect...). The box is around all of the sprites I need but when its in game play the srpite wont show correctly. It has like half and half cut off on each side or over laps. Can anyone tell me what Im doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

Oh and here's the sprite, it's the guitarist Buckethead.

EDIT: Oh I'm using RPGVX if that makes any difference. All the sample char's are a different size scale, shorter with bigger heads so they take up less space. I dont know if that makes any difference but other sprites I've imported that are the same scale as mine dont show right either.

It does make a difference that you're using VX, if you look at the sprites already in it, you'll notice that the pattern they use is

Left to Right:(Right foot forward) (stationary) (Left foot forward)
Top to Bottom: (Down) (Left) (Right) (Up)

To save you time, I edited it, and tried it out on VX to make sure.

"In the Arena of Logic, I fight unarmed!" -Red Mage on 8-Bit Theater.
